Software project rescue

A blocked software project does not always need a restart.

A fractured modular system stabilized by a precision copper bridge

We step into software projects that are delayed, blocked, or left without supplier support. First we make the real state visible; then we take control of what is needed to stabilize delivery and decide what to keep, refactor, or rebuild.

Review the project

When teams call us

The project does not need more pressure. It needs a reliable diagnosis.

  • 01Dates keep moving and nobody can explain clearly what is actually complete
  • 02The supplier has stopped responding, lost capacity, or cannot finish the delivery
  • 03There is code and a demo, but no version that can be operated and maintained
  • 04The team cannot decide whether to continue, refactor parts, or start again
01

Diagnosis of the real state

We review repositories, environments, dependencies, scope, and unfinished work to separate facts, assumptions, and risks.

02

Orderly technical takeover

We bring together access, infrastructure, documentation, and knowledge so the project can change hands without adding more opacity.

03

Prioritized stabilization

We isolate critical blockers, restore a deployment path, and order the work by risk and business value.

04

Keep, refactor, or rebuild

We explain what is worth keeping, what needs intervention, and what no longer justifies further work, including the implications of each option.

A verified state

It becomes clear what exists, what works, what blocks delivery, and which unknowns remain open.

A defensible decision

The choice to keep, refactor, or rebuild follows the state of the system, not only the investment already made.

A path with owners

Access, priorities, responsibilities, and the next deliveries are explicit, whether Altitud continues or the project is transferred.

  1. 01

    Gather the context

Code, access, environments, contracts, decisions, unfinished work, and stakeholders.

  2. 02

    Verify the state

Run what can be checked, review the critical parts, and separate completed work from assumptions.

  3. 03

    Choose the intervention

Keep what is sound, refactor what is recoverable, and rebuild only where the evidence justifies it.

  4. 04

    Restart delivery

Order work by risk and value, stabilize what supports the operation, and leave an explicit delivery sequence.

Fit

For existing projects that need a way forward

  • Delayed applications or platforms with prior investment
  • A supplier change or takeover by an internal team
  • Inherited code whose real state is not sufficiently clear
  • New ideas that still need product definition
  • Executive direction without involvement in delivery
  • A fixed completion date before the system is reviewed
Can you take over a project built by another supplier?

Yes, provided we can obtain enough access to assess it responsibly. We keep the technical review separate from judgements about the previous supplier and state any missing evidence explicitly.

How do you decide whether to keep, refactor, or rebuild?

We compare real behaviour, code quality, deployment capability, risks, dependencies, and maintainability. Rebuilding is an option, not the starting assumption.

What can be established before we have every access credential?

Without code, environments, or documentation, we can only form hypotheses. The first task is to identify what is missing, what can be verified, and which decisions must wait.

Does the rescue include finishing the product?

It may include a focused delivery, but the scope is decided after diagnosis. Altitud can stabilize and continue the build or prepare a clean transfer to the team that will continue.
